48 Hours Without Facebook

I never knew that Facebook was so important in my life until I experienced 48 hours without it. Thanks to a news scam called City-news.org, my entire social life on Facebook went into chaos when my account was disabled.

I realised that I have been investing a lot of my time in Facebook since my switch from Friendster. The main use for me would be checking out tnew updates and special events that I could attend on a weekly basis .

When my Facebook account was disabled, I had to  stop every activity that I used to do. It was at that point that I felt like an addict undergoing rehab. To get my fix – that is to re-enable my Facebook, I would be checking my Hotmail account every now and then for updates from the Facebook Team. Trying to sign into my account to see whether is it enabled. Waking up in the middle of the night to check if there is any good news. This might sound crazy but I can’t believe I did all of that.

Three days have passed and I finally received an email from Facebook. My account was re-instated and all I need was to change my password. Thank Goodness! This experience made me realise that my profile on the internet is now extremely intertwined with my actual life. I dare not think about the day (cross our fingers) if Facebook were to shut down its server. What will 9 million account holders do? Will they burst into rage like how a boy went crazy when his World of Warcraft account was deleted by his mother? See link What WoW can do to your children!
