As we all know links really affect our Search Engine Ranking. Here’s how:
For starters, search engine ranking largely depends on the quantity + quality of your links. The bigger your foundation in links, the better results you’ll get with search engine rankings
Search engines will look at your website’s relevance through link patterns, primarily with who links to you and how they are linked. If you have quality links then it equates to better rankings.
Being an SEO for years now, i realize that I am more experienced in this link building campaign. The execution of my duty is fun, especially seeing my links appear on search engines, directories, blog site, etc.
As an SEO with four years of solid experience, I give you some highly valuable tips to build the necessary link foundation you need online :
Link Building: We Usually Do
1. PPC as a Link Building tool – Buying good and relevant traffic from Sponsored Search Campaign. This will get your website an exposure or brand exposure. When people come or visit to your website there will be a big possibility that the site visit will be converted into inbound link (site visitor will link to you)
2. Syndication of Website Content / Article Submission / Press Release Campaign
- There are article sites around which can help us bring highly qualified visitors and give us high page rank.
- Can also trade article from other webmasters / site owners
- Press Releasing – This really work for local news search. Some Marketers think of press releasing is an old-school type of strategy; I disagree, try to mix up a Link bait Strategy with Press Releasing Strategy in this way it can give you more targeted, and qualified potential inbound link
- Asking website with “in the news” page to make a blog post on your articles. Or give links to that website. To research: Do a Google search for [your industry + "in the news"]
- Try to email some colleagues asking them for their comments. Or offering them to make your article useful and informational.
3. Directory Submission /Buying Links
- Submit your site to paid directories. Another old school type of building links.
- Directories that allow free submissions
- Just remember that quality matters
4. Blog Comments / Yahoo Answers
- Post regularly and post great content. Good execution is what gets the links.
- Link to other blogs from your blog. Outbound links are one form of marketing available.
- Comment on other blogs. Most of these comments will not provide much direct search engine value, but if your comments are useful, insightful, and relevant they can drive direct traffic. They also help make the other bloggers become aware of you, and they may start reading your blog and/or linking to it or getting rss feeds.
- It is pretty easy to ask or answer questions on Yahoo! Answers and provide links to relevant resources.
Evolution of Effective Link Building Strategy: Advanced link building Strategy
- BUZZ Marketing – Spread information, gimmicks or noise on the net and using badges, icons, banners, buttons and ask bloggers to post it on their blogs and websites. Spreading niche contests online can also largely help your site out.
- For a Cause – using of badges, icons, banners, buttons, etc. online. Asking bloggers to post it on there websites/ online

- Offline Social Networking – Invite fellow website owners / bloggers to participate in an event (presscon, sponsorships, product demos, parties, and seminars) give them a party they won’t forget. In exchange for all this, ask them to post articles / links on their websites/ blogs about the event

Always keep in mind that in building links, you must consider getting a few right links rather than a thousand wrong links, (Quality over Quantity) don’t set your target upon organic search results but go for traffic developments. Be creative, and don’t just trade links with another link but with something rather more useful. Be consistent on building links both offline and online. Simply put, keep on adding links
