Tips for Thoughts : Microsoft AdExcellence Versus GAIQ
Shuxian Huang
Passing exams are never easy. At least for me. The stress factor for me surfaced upon hearing that I will have to take Microsoft AdExcellence Exam as well as Google Analytics Qualification (GAIQ). Nevertheless, its always a good gauge on your knowledge and expertise and I will share some tips with “noobies” like me that wish to attempt both exams.
I took this exam first as I reckoned it would be easier since I have acquired Google Advertising Professional Certification previously. Doubtless, the structure of the exam was rather similar to Adwords, with MCQs and selecting type questions. The tricky factor here was TIME. You will have to go through the test at a “bullet train speed”, knowing most of the stuff at the back of your head if you wanted to check and review your answers at the end. It would definitely helped if you are familiar with adcenter’s features and tools.
The adExcellence Classroom is where you should head to prepare yourself for the accreditation exam.
Few of the topics I consider as MUST-READ:-
1) Editorial Guidelines
2) Trademark Guidelines
3) Dynamic Text Best Practices (Tip: Note the difference between keyword insertions and parameters insertions)
4) Editorial Review (Tip: Both Google and Microsoft love asking questions on editorial)
5) adCenter Budgeting
6) adCenter Billing
Phew, scrambling through all the information, I managed to pass the exam with a first attempt!
Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ)
Ok, this was slightly harder for me. Firstly, I had limited experience in Google Analytics and the best channel was to scrutinize all materials in Conversion University. (It is definitely important to go through the materials more than once!)
Thoughts after the exams…………
The exam was all about understanding the concepts and having ability to apply it practically when handing GA accounts. Several case studies questions were given to test knowledge on “what, when and how”.
4 fundamental tasks you should know like ABC:-
Of course, that’s not all. You should also be familiar with Google Analytics Interface and reporting features.
With all that above, I hope all interested takers out there are able to pass with flying colors! (with my little help here….)
