Two reasons why I consider internal linking as a Powerful SEO Technique: First, it encourages your users to stay longer within your website. Second, it is a convenient and controlled way to improve your Search Engine Rankings. The Search Engines are likely to identify your important pages by the way your internal links are structured, thereby increasing the ranks of said important pages.
3 Useful Guidelines for Internal Linking:
1. Sitemaps – Including XML and HTML site maps is one basic way of doing Internal Linking. You can refer to more previous post on sitemaps .
2. Related Posts – You can put a “read related post” on each topic or entry. By linking to similar posts, readers would be able to find other interesting and relevant content.
3. Hyperlinking – Don’t get crazy worrying about the the keyword density on any particular page. Make use of the existing content and promote it internally by hyperlinking targeted keywords pointing to related pages.
So, time to go back to basics and make use of your existing website content.
