To Follow or NoFollow: Navigating The Link Juice

January 2005 when no-follow was launched, it is also described as a technique to identify untrusted links from your website (Example: blog comments). Basically the idea would be Search Engine Spiders wont follow or don’t count that link in calculating the PageRank.

A PageRank define by Google as number and importance of links pointing to your website.Was name after Larry Page (co-founder of Google).

By 2007, Advanced SEO make used of the no-follow link attribute; they discover that no-follow attribute can be use in Page Rank Sculpting or letting the link juice go to the deepest page of the website.

By 2009, Google Qouted:
“The nofollow attribute is just a mechanism that gives webmasters the ability to modify PageRank flow at link-level granularity. Plenty of other mechanisms would also work (e.g., a link through a page that is robot.txt’ed out), but nofollow on individual links is simpler for some folks to use. There’s no stigma to using nofollow, even on your own internal links; for Google, nofollow’ed links are dropped out of our link graph; we don’t even use such links for discovery. By the way, the nofollow meta tag does that same thing, but at a page level.”

As i understood from Matt Cutts statement. “rel=nofollow”are not use to discover new pages and for increasing PageRank. Good content & a good quality website still matters from Google. There is no such thing to sculpt a PageRank.

Here are my points of views / tips  from this debate between Google and the Webmasters:

1. It is more important to get links (high quality). Linking from the right category or right websites.

2. High quality content,  is considered as the best answer in getting high PageRank & can give you  Good Search Engine Ranking. As Matt Cutts Twitted last June 3, 2009 that content is still the king (or content is still one of the KINGS).

3. PageRank  Sculpting can be useful in eleminating robots going to your login pages. Doint the sculpting doesnt give you a penalty but it is not that effective.
