Who Are My Searchers?
Gino Carpio
SEO’s are trying to understand there users’ behavior. Many of them are trying to see or really research for the searcher’s expectation. This article, Will be talking about the types of “Searchers”, “Visitors”, “Possible Prospects” or any terms you want to address to people who are using searchengines.
In the Study, keyword queries are divided into three classifications.
1. The Navigational Searchers
- A type of Searchers that already identified what he / she is looking for; On this type of query the person is just looking for a specific website.
- A searcher will type in a company name, example: querying for “clickTRUE “. They are expecting a website for clickTRUE. User’s are just making sure of the website they are looking for, like is it clicktrue.com? clicktrue.com.sg? clicktrue.biz?
- Or Searching for a Specific website they have in mind. People often times write a company name or a brand name for there queries.
2. Informational Searchers
- A research type of search. They are looking for information’s from the web.
- Example, they will search for “Singapore search engine company”
- This type of search is bigger or broader than navigational type of search.
- An information query, if searchers don’t see the information they want in the first search result, they will refine the search or use another keyword , same with navigational query.
3. Transactional or the Buying Type of Searchers.
- Now, the searchee has the intention. They are willing to transact online to make an online activity.
- Example keywords: “Sell iPhone online”, “getting SEO service”, “buy vehicle online”
- If you’re a company that sells goods or services online, you must focus more on this type of search rather than informational or navigational queries.
Study your users, study the keyword your user’s are using. SEO’s like me, should take a look or focus on which type of search are they intended to (is it navagational? for information? for transaction online?). Alot of reasons why people conduct a search on Google. Some maybe are planning to go online shopping, some are going for shopping but not online (for some reasons.. hehehe), some wanted to download a file… etc.
My Tip: If you are going for a traffic from transactional query, study your wordings on your content. Also make a closer look on your title tag. A title tag gives you an advantage over the search result. Make your content be interesting to users. Also, study some keyword trends.
